The purpose of this course is to equip NDIS workers, aged care staff, and disability support professionals with the knowledge and skills to promote participant advocacy and self-determination. The purpose of this course is to build awareness, respect, and practical skills for delivering culturally safe and equitable care. Cultural safety goes beyond cultural awareness, requiring workers to reflect on their own values and biases while recognising and respecting the identity of participants. With a specific focus on First Nations Australians, this course highlights the historical and social context of colonisation, systemic disadvantage, and health inequities, and explains how these influence service delivery today. Learners will develop the confidence to provide culturally responsive support that upholds the dignity, rights, and choices of participants while aligning with NDIS Practice Standards and Aged Care Quality Standards.

TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE

The purpose of this course is to provide NDIS workers, disability support staff, and aged care professionals with the knowledge and skills to deliver trauma-informed care in line with NDIS Practice Standards and Australian health guidelines.

Trauma-informed care means recognising the widespread impact of trauma, understanding how it shapes behaviour and engagement, and responding in ways that prioritise safety, trust, and empowerment.

This training helps learners identify trauma responses, adapt care approaches, and minimise re-traumatisation while supporting participants to live with dignity, autonomy, and resilience.

SUPPORTING FIRST NATIONS PARTICIPANTS IN PRACTICE (ADVANCED)

The purpose of this course is to equip experienced support workers with advanced knowledge and practical strategies to provide culturally safe, respectful, and effective care for First Nations participants. Learners will develop a deeper understanding of cultural frameworks, historical impacts, and systemic challenges that influence participant experiences.

The training emphasises trauma-informed practice, compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, and alignment with ASQA and Australian cultural safety guidelines. By the end of this session, workers will be able to integrate inclusive approaches into daily practice, strengthen trust with participants, and contribute to equitable outcomes.
