The purpose of this course is to build awareness, respect, and practical skills for delivering culturally safe and equitable care. Cultural safety goes beyond cultural awareness, requiring workers to reflect on their own values and biases while recognising and respecting the identity of participants. With a specific focus on First Nations Australians, this course highlights the historical and social context of colonisation, systemic disadvantage, and health inequities, and explains how these influence service delivery today. Learners will develop the confidence to provide culturally responsive support that upholds the dignity, rights, and choices of participants while aligning with NDIS Practice Standards and Aged Care Quality Standards.
