Course Description

The purpose of this course is to equip NDIS workers with the knowledge and practical skills needed to apply the NDIS Code of Conduct in real workplace situations. While many workers may be aware of the Code as a set of written standards, this course goes further by linking each principle to practical case studies, role-plays, and real-life examples.

Learners will not only understand the rules but also practise decision-making in complex scenarios where rights, responsibilities, and ethical challenges overlap. The overall aim is to promote safe, respectful, and high-quality support services that protect participant wellbeing and strengthen public confidence in the NDIS system.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Explain the purpose and principles of the NDIS Code of Conduct, including how it protects participant rights and guides professional behaviour.
  • Identify and analyse breaches of the Code using case studies, role-plays, and real-world examples from the disability sector.
  • Apply the Code to workplace decision-making, including handling conflicts of interest, safeguarding privacy, and responding to risks of abuse or neglect.
  • Follow correct procedures for reporting and resolving concerns, understanding the role of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission in enforcing compliance.
  • Contribute to a culture of respect, safety, and accountability within their workplace, ensuring participants receive services that are ethical, person-centred, and aligned with the NDIS Practice Standards.
