The purpose of this course is to equip support workers with a strong foundation in leadership skills that are relevant to the disability and aged care sector. Leadership in these environments is not only about supervising staff but also about creating a safe, respectful, and accountable workplace where participants’ needs are at the centre of all decisions. This course provides learners with knowledge of leadership principles, different leadership styles, compliance requirements, and practical strategies for guiding and motivating teams. It is designed to help workers transition into leadership roles or strengthen their informal leadership practice in day-to-day support work. By the end of the course, participants will understand how leadership links directly to participant safety, team cohesion, and compliance with NDIS Practice Standards.
