Course Description

The purpose of this course is to equip NDIS workers and staff with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to prevent, identify, and respond to workplace bullying and harassment. These behaviours can severely impact not only the health and wellbeing of staff but also the quality of care provided to participants. This training ensures that all workers understand their obligations under Australian laws, workplace health and safety frameworks, and NDIS Practice Standards. By completing this course, learners will gain practical strategies to address inappropriate behaviours, create safer workplaces, and contribute to a culture of respect and accountability.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  1. Define bullying and harassment in workplace and NDIS contexts – Understand the legal and organisational definitions of bullying and harassment, including how they differ from reasonable management action.
  2. Identify risks, behaviours, and early warning signs – Recognise the types of behaviours that constitute bullying or harassment, their triggers, and the warning indicators that help with early intervention.
  3. Apply safe and compliant procedures for reporting and resolution – Follow step-by-step processes for documenting incidents, reporting concerns, and supporting investigations in line with organisational and legal requirements.
  4. Align workplace practice with policies, protocols, and compliance requirements – Ensure personal and team behaviours reflect NDIS Practice Standards, WHS obligations, and the Fair Work Act.
  5. Contribute to a respectful and accountable workplace culture – Actively promote inclusion, respect, and accountability, reducing the risk of bullying and harassment and supporting a safe environment for both workers and participants.
