Course Description

This course equips disability support workers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to recognise, respond to, and manage seizures safely. It ensures compliance with NDIS Practice Standards and organisational policies while safeguarding participant dignity, independence, and wellbeing.

Course Outcomes

Define seizures, convulsions, and epilepsy.

Identify seizure types, triggers, and risk factors.

Understand roles and responsibilities in seizure management.

Apply principles of seizure care and follow personalised Care Plans.

Recognise when and how to escalate care in emergencies.

Safely use PPE and equipment in seizure response.

Document, report, and review seizure-related incidents in line with policies.
