Apply a structured method to identify hazards across environment, people, process, equipment, and information for typical support activities.
Use a likelihood–consequence matrix to rate risks consistently and prioritise high/critical risks for immediate action.
Select and justify controls using the hierarchy (eliminate → PPE), ensuring options are least-restrictive and aligned with participant goals.
Document an RMP that clearly states controls, roles and responsibilities, monitoring, escalation triggers, and review timelines.
Integrate the RMP with incident reporting, emergency procedures, PBS/clinical guidance, privacy and consent requirements.
Escalate and communicate effectively during changes in condition, near misses, or incidents, and initiate a timely RMP review.
