The purpose of this course is to provide learners with the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to support individuals with respiratory care needs in community settings. Many people receiving NDIS or aged care services live with chronic respiratory conditions such as asthma, COPD, or pneumonia, which require attentive and informed support.

By the end of this training, learners will be able to recognise respiratory challenges, apply safe care practices, and respond effectively in emergencies. The course also emphasises compliance with NDIS Practice Standards and Australian clinical guidelines to ensure safe, ethical, and high-quality service delivery.

Define respiratory conditions and care procedures – Explain the structure and function of the respiratory system, outline common respiratory conditions, and describe essential care practices.

Align practice with NDIS and Australian clinical guidelines – Demonstrate compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, Restrictive Practices Rules, and relevant national health guidelines, reinforcing professional accountability.
