The purpose of this course is to build a clear and practical understanding of how gender and disability intersect in care and support services. Many participants experience multiple layers of identity that influence how they access support, express needs, and respond to care environments. When staff overlook gender factors, participants may feel unsafe, disrespected, or excluded, even when their disability needs are technically addressed.
This course equips learners with the knowledge to recognise these dynamics and respond appropriately. It aims to strengthen professional practice by promoting respect for individual identity, compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, and the creation of inclusive environments.
