The purpose of this course is to equip NDIS workers, aged care staff, and disability support professionals with essential knowledge and skills to provide safe, compassionate, and compliant dementia care. Dementia is a progressive condition that affects cognitive, emotional, and physical wellbeing. Without proper training, workers may inadvertently compromise participant safety, dignity, or rights.
This course builds understanding of dementia’s nature, associated risks, and evidence-based support procedures. It also ensures alignment with NDIS Practice Standards, Australian dementia guidelines, and WHS obligations. Learners will gain confidence in their ability to respond to challenging behaviours, communicate effectively, and foster environments that protect dignity and independence.
