The purpose of this course is to provide learners with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to support participants who experience bladder and bowel care needs in disability and aged care settings. Continence management is not only about hygiene and physical health but also about dignity, independence, and quality of life.
By completing this course, learners will be able to recognise different types of incontinence, apply safe procedures, minimise risks of infection, and support participants in a respectful and person-centred way. The course also ensures that learners understand and comply with the NDIS Practice Standards and relevant Australian health guidelines.
