Course Description

The purpose of this course is to equip workers, leaders, and community members with the knowledge and skills required to create inclusive environments that uphold the rights and dignity of all individuals. It aims to promote practices that go beyond compliance to foster true belonging and participation. The course supports the vision of the NDIS by embedding inclusion into everyday service delivery and community life. Learners will gain a clear understanding of inclusion, discrimination risks, and practical strategies for building stronger, fairer, and more resilient communities.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  1. Define inclusion and explain its importance for participants, organisations, and communities.
  2. Identify risks of discrimination and exclusion, including physical, cultural, and systemic barriers.
  3. Apply inclusive procedures and support strategies that align with person-centred practice.
  4. Interpret and apply NDIS Practice Standards, the Code of Conduct, and relevant Australian legislation to ensure compliance.
  5. Develop skills to foster inclusive organisational cultures through leadership, training, and advocacy.
  6. Demonstrate practical application of inclusive practices through case studies, role plays, and workplace reflection activities.
